Internet Dating - Too Scary?

Stop hesitating, dive right in and have a go. It’s not as bad as you might think. Internet dating myths busted.

Meeting people – Easy - I don’t need help! Yeah that’s because of the throngs of eligible cuties lined up at your door just waiting for their turn with your, right? No? Meeting people is not always easy and especially so when we limit ourselves to the old fashioned/conventional way. Why cut off your nose to spite your own face. Jump online and at least have a look.

It’s not safe! Ah ok. Internet dating allows you to learn about someone’s attitude, personality, living arrangements, it allows you to chat, email and even have a conversation from the comfort of your own space. Sure there might be a few posers, but when aren’t they out there?

Online dating's for the rejects! Yep, if you mean people who have rejected the idea of limiting themselves to the pub, club, supermarket etc, etc as a way of meeting a new friend, a fun date, a potential life partner.

I meet new people all the time. Wow! Lucky you. How many of them would you progress to friends and more over how many of them are made of potential dating material? Can expanding your horizons hurt that much? And besides just because you’re looking online doesn’t mean you can’t look in the flesh so to speak.

Too old, too schmold! With the modern online dating/meeting tools you can refine your search to people in the same age group with similar interests, preferred living situations, family commitments etc etc etc. It’s the perfect place to get back in the saddle so to speak. You can control the pace any relationship progresses and be completely anonymous.

Everyone lies online. Duh, like that’s never happened in a bar or a club! If something/someone seems too good to be true chances are that they are! Listen to your little voice and if it says run, then run but don’t forget to take your headset off first. Face first on the floor with your computer on your back is not a good look ;-)
It’s too expensive. Well all things are relative. Have a think about what you spend your cash on and you might be pleasantly surprised how easy online subscriptions are too afford, especially if you put it into perspective. Go without that third coffee a day, your liver will love you for it and your social life; well your social life could bloom. Plus, now there are some free ones Whadda waiting for?
