How preposterous - Tee hee. From the home of the brazilian comes this story but the real question is, how will they enforce it?

Ozais Zizi, a Brazilian councillor, has proposed a new law making it illegal for brides go to the alter commando. Zizi has noted the ‘worrying’ trend in the southern reaches of the country and is determined to stamp it out by any means possible.

Superstitious brides believe turning up at the church knickerless will make for longer happier marriages and who can refute their claims? Critics of Councillor Zizi said, ‘ it is absurd to try and enforce a bill ensuring brides wore knickers,’ but Zizi stands firm. 'The person, in fact, can get married in whichever way they like, but the moment they enter a place of worship they must show some respect. And without knickers just won’t do.'

The councillor admitted that the law would be hard to enforce – ‘we couldn’t do any checks’ – but suggested that an educational campaign could ‘preserve our sacred places’.
